Canopy Stairway

Steel | 18’ tall | 2013

This steel stairway winding around an old oak tree is as much a sculptural experience as a means to a place. Each tread is a repeating form that interlocks to create a structurally sound spiral stair, leading eventually to a platform viewpoint. Also, suspended in the nearby canopy is an aluminum sculptural variation to a dodecahedron.
