Stacks
Forged steel pipe | 22” x 9” x 9” | 2019
Exhibited at Perry Carlson Gallery, this piece is one part of a three-work series titled Relics, and abstractly represents the smoke stacks of the distant oil refinery plant. The overall project explores my region in three zones and subjects: Forest/resource, shoreline/material processing (this piece), and bay/product export. This sculpture imagines the shoreline refinery stacks as “future relics” after this age of petroleum refinement, export and over consumption has run it’s course.
